During the period of activity of the scientific school at the Department of Computer Engineering, the following have been trained: 13 Doctors of Sciences. Among them, the following defended their doctoral dissertations under the supervision of Samofalov K.H.: Lutskyi H.M., Tarasenko V.P., Kanievskyi Yu.S., Shyrochyn V.P., Buzovskyi O.V., Pechuryn N.K., Kyryl Boyanov, Stoyko Todorov, Jerzy Bromirski, Andrzej Sielicki, Stoyko Chavzarov. Under the supervision of Lutskyi H.M., V.P. Simonenko defended his doctoral dissertation; under the supervision of Kanievskyi Yu.S., Roman Vyzhykovskyi.

The scientific school of the department is represented by more than 300 graduates of the department’s postgraduate and doctoral programs in 18 countries worldwide and continues to develop both at the core Department of Computer Engineering, Systems and Networks and at its “affiliated” departments.

In 2009, two PhD (Candidate of Sciences) dissertations were defended at the Department of Computer Engineering:

  1. Rastug Saden (Iran), “Methods and tools for improving computational efficiency in cluster systems with multicore architecture” – 05.13.05; supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering V.O. Korochkin;
  2. Kuts Volodymyr Yuriiovych, “Information-measuring system for evaluating parameters of cyclic signals based on circular median filtering” – 05.13.05; supervisor: Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering Yu.O. Kulakov.

In 2008, four PhD (Candidate of Sciences) dissertations were defended by postgraduate students at the Department of Computer Engineering:

  1. Volokyta Artem Mykolaiovych, “Methods and tools for improving the efficiency of security monitoring systems in computer systems” – 01.05.03; supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering V.Ye. Mukhin;
  2. Bukhantsov Serhii Mykolaiovych, “Methods and tools for efficient organization of software for information and analytical systems (for financial institutions)” – 01.05.03; supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering V.I. Pustovarov;
  3. Iyad (M.M.) Shahrouri (Jordan), “Methods and tools for improving the efficiency of subscriber identification in multi-user systems” – 05.13.05; supervisor: Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering K.H. Samofalov;
  4. Mulki Ahmed Yasin Al Badayneh (Jordan), “Improving the efficiency of error detection and correction tools in serial interfaces of computer systems” – 05.13.13; supervisor: Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering K.H. Samofalov.

In 2007, four PhD (Candidate of Sciences) dissertations were defended at the Department of Computer Engineering, including one by a department assistant:

  2. Khazem Mohd Said Abdel Majid Hatamleh (Jordan), “Improving the efficiency of error detection in data transmission in computer systems and networks” – 05.13.13; supervisor: K.H. Samofalov;
  3. Zohreh Karim Zadeh (Iran), “Hardware and software tools for generating pseudorandom sequences to improve the efficiency of information security in computers and networks” – 05.13.13; supervisor: A.P. Markovskyi.

In 2006, the following doctoral dissertations were defended at the Department of Computer Engineering:

In 2004, three PhD (Candidate of Sciences) dissertations were defended by postgraduate students at the Department of Computer Engineering:

  3. Abu Uzbakh Oleksii Nadailiovych (Ukraine), “Synthesis and organization of computations of Boolean functions of a special class for information security systems”; supervisor: Professor K.H. Samofalov.
